The Music Road Hotel is located in the middle of Pigeon Forge – located just a block off the main drag (Parkway). You can easily walk to Ruby Tuesday, Sonic and Country Barrel to name a few. The Hollywood Wax Museum is very nearby and still walkable to get to The Titanic Attraction, Hatfield an d McCoy and The Grand Opry – though a little more of a hike.
We stayed in mid-October, so the weather was still pretty warm – the kids were excited to see that the outdoor water park area was still open over at the Music Road Inn across the street, though the water area outside our actual hotel was closed for the season. No matter, because there also is a nice indoor pool and hottub that is open 24 hours – allowing us to swim at our convenience. One night we were at the pool until midnite! I just took our soap and shampoo down with us and the girls were able to shower in the changing room right off the pool and were ready for bed!
The hotel lobby was rustic with traditional sitting areas and a large, stone fireplace. Large windows provided a great wooded view to the outside patio in back … right along the river. The hotel staff were super friendly from everyone to the front desk, to the cleaning staff and maintenance guys who even offered local “advice” on where to park and what to see on our visit.
There is a small gift shop in the lobby offering snacks , jewelry, small stuffed animals and toiletries.
A wonderful full and warm breakfast is included with your stay and is open from 6-10am each morning. On nicer days, you can enjoy your coffee or breakfast out on the patio tables and hear the soothing sound of the river running by. The breakfast itself had lots to choose, including hot biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and bacon. There were a variety of breads and pastries, bagels, cereal, yogurt, granola, fruit and juices to offer a nice variety each morning. The kids especially loved the warm cinammin rolls …. You have to be quick on a busy weekend though to get one!
Our room was located on the 5th floor and was a nice size with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was especially large with 2 sinks and plenty of vanity and storage. The shower head seemed a little low, but no matter because I am only 5’4”. Our view was of the front parking lot and a cemetery across the street … but you could also see the strip. On our next stay, I would ask for a nice river view next time – it was really pretty! Each room has a private balcony, microwave, refrigerator and hair dryer, a small coffee maker and an ironing board.
The room, and overall hotel, was very clean and updated. I would definitely stay here again in the future – we really enjoyed our three night stay!
